Speed Limiter for Isuzu Truck Giga Series

 

 

One of the largest integrated sugar company in Indonesia will upgrade the fleet with a more-powerful truck. The company select Isuzu Giga Truck series to handle the transportation in the sugar cane plantation to the sugar mill; the trucks will operated as triple trailer trucks.

The company concern to the safety level when the fleets operated in the sugar cane plantation. To achieve the safety level, the company needed to ensure the fleet will running at the speed range; to this purpose the company decide to install the trucks with a speed limiter.

Conventional speed limiter use mechanical limiter to control the stroke of the accelerator pedal. Another old type use a solenoid valve to hold fuel flow to the engine when speed exceed the set value. These conventional type will influence engine performance and unstable control operation. It also will be complicated when installation and inaccurate setting.

Netra propose an advanced technology speed limiter as solution. This electronic speed limiter will work with Isuzu truck's ECU (Electronic Control Unit). Speed limiter will monitor vehicle's speed continuously. When the speed reach the limit, speed limiter will send a flag to the ECU, and the ECU will hold the signal from accelerator pedal to the value. This procedure is not influence engine performance.

To meet with the manufacturing standard, Isuzu had make a trial and test to the speed limiter; for installation, safety and engine performance. Netra Speed Limiter pass the test, successfully installed and working for  Isuzu Giga Truck.

   

Requirements:

- Control the truck to running at a preprogrammed  speed range

- The speed control equipment will not influence engine performance

-The equipment have to pass from Isuzu manufacturing trial and test
